Here’s My Story

Wandering re-establishes the original harmony which once existed between man and the universe. –  Anatole France

Welcome every one to my Personal blog. I have been meaning to do this for a very long time now.   For those of you who do not know, my name is Shashvat Joshi and I spent the last Eight and a half-year of my life studying medicine and finally getting the prestigious M.D.  Somewhere in the middle of all this i had the opportunity to visit and explore some of the most amazing parts of our planet.

So one of my First road trips was to the Himalayas in the Ladakh region of India.  This I am talking about 8 years back when Ladakh was not very popular not yet commercialized and just pure and raw nature.  I had my own personal motorcycle and it was trip that completely changed my outlook towards life. I was a completely different person after that epiphanic road trip.   I realized that i was blindly running after something that the society and world demanded out of me and making me believe that would be source of happiness. But when i was amidst  the mountains i had never been happier and had  found my true calling.

By then i was already into the 4th year of my medical school and too late to change career paths or do anything about it. This is the main problem with the Indian education system we are forced to select what we want to do with the rest of our lives  as early as 16 years. At that age i was not even sure about my favorite video game, how was i expected to choose a career path so early is still a mystery to me.

So after that road trip whenever i found time to embark upon a journey i would not miss it.  Since then i have been on a road trip to Spiti Valley in Himachal Pradesh, North Eastern states of India and even Bhutan on my motorbike.  Somewhere between this craziness i managed to squeeze in a once in a lifetime trek to Mount Everest base camp.  And witnessing a sun rising from behind mount Everest has to be the Highlight of my life so far.

And Since then I have had the chance to explore almost all parts of India, and only i know how difficult it was to juggle with medical school while still being able to do all this. With the zeal and vigour i explored Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Nepal, Bhutan, Maldives, Seychelles, Austria, Switzerland, Italy, Germany, Hungary, Slovakia and am planning a road trip to New Zealand very soon

So the point of telling you all this was that now that I am finally done with my studies happily married and now practising medicine everyday i have finally found the time to also do what i really love. Which is to share with the world my love for travel, meeting new people, exploring new cultures and trying different food. Also in the process i have come to realize how intimidating, difficult and expensive abroad travel may seem like. But here i am going to make things very easy for all you aspiring Indian travelers who share the same passion as me.

I have also started a YouTube channel which helps all you Indian travelers explore the world efficiently, on a budget, and in a completely new way while changing the stereotype of package based travel agent depending traveling.
